Father Justin begins a new sermon series for Epiphany, Eight things God wants you to know about Him. First up: in a world that can be scary, God wants you to know you don’t have to be scared of Him. The one Jesus called “Father” declared that He was well-pleased with Jesus at His baptism, well before Jesus had done much of anything we associate with Him saving the world. Likewise, we find that, in Christ, God is well-pleased with each of us, from the beginning and always. This is a revolution in religious thinking. God is not an angry, scary being whom we have to appease. Nor is God the voice inside our heads telling us we're falling short. Our God is a loving, compassionate mystery who is always by our side.
