The Story of God
In this conclusion to his sermon series for Epiphany—8 Things God Wants You to Know About Him—Father Justin explores the mystery at the heart of it all: God’s self-revelation in Jesus of Nazareth. In Jesus, God takes on an ordinary human existence, showing us through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection what God is really like. The Transfiguration of Jesus atop Mount Tabor shows the disciples that Jesus is somehow, mysteriously the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This means Jesus’ words are God’s words. Jesus’ acts are God’s acts. Jesus’ life is God’s life. His death, God’s death. Jesus is God speaking our language, and revealing Himself not as an abstract concept but as a Person who loves us and wants to know us—and who wants us to know Him.
