God and Grief
Nov 3, 2024
Father Justin reflects on how odd grief really is. Grief is the process of relearning how to live our lives in the physical absence of someone (or something) we have loved, and it involves every emotion under the sun: sadness, fear, anger, regret, relief, joy, and more. The book of Revelation records a series of visions of the spiritual dimension of life, one of which depicts God coming to humanity to be with them and to wipe away their tears. God comes to be with us in our grief, and will permit us to grieve in His presence, no matter what we might feel.
