The Desire of Our Hearts

The story of Candlemas, or the Presentation of Christ in the Temple, reveals the ultimate fulfillment of our deepest spiritual longings. Just as Simeon and Anna, when they meet Jesus with his parents in the temple, find in Him the fulfillment of everything they’ve ever wanted, so we find the same in God. Candlemas invites us to examine what we truly want in life and to look beyond superficial things to the divine love that can satisfy our souls completely.
